Fun Selfies Last spring we went on a Mediterranean Cruise. What a contrast between Old Europe and New Canada. But, modern is everywhere when it comes to selfies. All manner of selfies were taken, some to depict trying to push the tower over, others to prop it up. It is an impressive structure – still standing despite the ill-conceived design plans. Today, over 1,000,000 tourists visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa each year. It is an important monument for the city of Pisa as well as an important reminder to the engineering difficulties engineers and architects had to account for when building the beautiful buildings of the past.
